You lucky, lucky girls!!!! You do know that research has shown that men find the hourglass figure the most attractive (not that it really matters, but it helps!!!). So if you have curvaceous hips, a small waist and proportionate chest, you have the classic hourglass silhouette. Now even though you are lucky (do you see us getting a little green with envy here??), you still need to know the do’s and don’ts of dressing your gorgeous body. So here goes:
Do’s:?xml:namespace>
First and foremost find a good tailor!! You do need to have clothes altered to fit you the best, and look at it as an investment in putting your best foot forward.
Bootcut jeans with a lower waist, should be your best friend, they will help balance the curvaceous hip portion without gaping at the waist.
Wrap dresses and wrap tops – girls, these were totally made for you!! The wrap part emphasizes your tiny waist and what’s better than that?
V shaped necklines elongate your neck and make your chest look proportionate to the rest of your upper body.
Amongst Indian clothes, saris are an awesome way to show off your small waist and cover your wider sections.
Also consider the Anarkali silhouette in churidar-kameez, the fact that it emphasizes your waist line works wonders for your shape.
Accessorize your mid section with waistband and belts.
Don’t’s?xml:namespace>
Stay away from bulky stiff fabrics!! These will just add bulk in every nook possible.
Tapered pants never worked for anyone, they won’t work for you either.
Don’t dress your smallest part first. If you have a 26” waist but 38” hips, try something that fits your hips, and then alter the waist.
Stop complaining!!! You have a dream figure, really!!
Like all of us, you are lucky girls…hold your head up high, it helps!!?xml:namespace>
Rani Mukherjee looking absolutely lovely in a purple sari at Ridhima's wedding. (We know this is an old pic, but we love the classic look- also love her necklace).
